HILLWALKING SAFETY
Be equipped Hillwalking boots, full waterproofs, associated hill kit, lunch and drink are essential for all walks. See the kit list for a reminder of what you may need.
Route Cards: We ask that all groups complete a route card before leaving for the hill.
Be considerate to yourself and others We walk in groups and avoid becoming widely dispersed for safety and fellowship. Please objectively consider your fitness, resilience, ability and equipment to select a walk that is within both your competence and aspirations. For example, the degree of fitness, resilience ability and equipment that are required for a winter day in the Cairngorms are of a completely different order of magnitude to those required for a summer day in the Trossachs. You should take responsibility for your own safety and enjoyment and consider that of others, so that everyone has an enjoyable time and no one is put at undue risk or inconvenience.
We are affiliated to Mountaineering Scotland and operate under their best practice guidance. This is available on their website at www.mcofs.org.uk/safety-liability-clubs.asp
