About Us

Who we are

Now in its 30th year, being formed in 1984, The Scottish Christian Hillwalking Club brings together Christian men and woman, young and old from across the country to enjoy hillwalking and fellowship amidst God’s wonderful creation. We warmly welcome non-Christians to meets. We encourage you to attend a couple of events and meet current members before deciding whether or not to join the Club.

A number of our members have finished all their Munros with one or two having done them twice and a few have completed their Corbetts. A few are nearly finished.

What we do

The Club organises weekend meets about once a month. We also have a few day walks on a Saturday. We have some longer weekend meets over Bank Holidays, Easter as well as week long meets at New Year and a week in the early summer. We walk mainly in Scotland and very occasionally go further afield. Please check the current programme for information on events. For information on the grading of our walks and clothing and equipment required click here.

On weekend meets, the group normally gathers on the Friday night at a youth hostel, mountaineering club hut, Christian Centre or self-catering accommodation. We aim to have a time of informal worship together at some stage during weekends and where we can, attend a local church on Sunday morning.

If you can’t make a full weekend, it is often possible to come for the Saturday or Sunday only, but you must let the contact know!
